its all depends

you can get a pair of heads that flow a little less but for substantially less money

but if you must be the best on the road and have the money then go for it

the only people praising them are the ones who sell them. buy ls6's or wait until they REALLY prove themselves

Whats great about the heads is the ENTIRE package, not just peak numbers. Thye are a 205cc runner putting down numbers in the upper flow area that the ported 215cc heads are making. This means the heads have great velocity which equates to:
better low end flow, flatter tq. curve, stock like fuel effitiancy(sp?) with maintianing great top end.

Search under Tony Momo from afr and look at his 224 cam put down 480. Also search for the fella that had LAPD put heads only on his ZO6 and pick up ~40rwhp.

They are defiantly worth the $$$ if you got it.

That guy was Stano that picked up 40rwhp! I'll wait for a lot more test results, those heads are pretty pricey.

Pricey, but they seem to be worth it. The only thing holding me back is that cam selection seems to be severely limited with stock, uncut pistons. I would like to try to wring more power out of the setup than a 228 cam (and unmilled AFR's) would allow. Though 480rwhp is no joke lol. I wonder if the 225's will allow for a bigger cam? Anyone know?

They need to get track times! As a matter of fact I saw on the corvette website that someone installed them and tested them at the track and wasn't to impressed with the 1/4 mile times.

I'll let you know 1st week of October
It will be either Or
As a N2O user, I definately like the thicker deck and the 24rwhp gain on a 1>1 swap Vs LS6.
Now if only they could step up production and have them flow on the market like they flow on the Dyno

These heads really aren't that expensive.
Take your avarage stage 2.5 ported head from any of the top porters and the price is very similar.
Try AS, TEA, MTI, Cartech, GTP, etc all of their best heads are in the same ball park. Hell if you are buying LS6 heads from one of the companies above you will be paying more then the 205's from AFR.

You have to compair apples to apples here.
You cant compair the stage 1.5 or stage 2 jobs to the AFR's because that isn't the correct compairson.

I am not on the bandwagon and would like to see some dyno numbers from more than just 2 cars.
Hopefully soon this will happen.
Someone just posted 448 running a little rice with a M6, bolton's and a 224/228 112LSA cam.
That is damn impressive in my oponion.
That was in a Z06 with no dyno tricks.

With that being said, if these numbers become normal, or avarage then AFR UNDERPRICED their heads and will make other head porters struggle selling their stage 2.5 and stage 3 heads.

They were installed at LAPD which works directly with AFR..

I'm not doubting there gain but want to see seperate tests.Take the Trex cam,I've never seen over 420rwhp compared to there "claimed 450rwhp"
