You also have to take into consideration that not all stock LS1 GM short blocks are the same. Each and every motor has it's own characteristics. One motor may have been whooped on much more then another and that whooped on motor will most likely not produce as much power due to the wear and tear it sustained.

we had similiar results with a trex cam, swapped the ls1 intake for an ls6 and ported tb and picked up 28rwhp. He went from 380's to 408ishrwhp
