Default #8 ZERO compression

Was driving the car last night and did a 3-4 shift and missed the gear. Afterwards the car ran very rough and felt to have been misfiring.

I have prc ls6 heads and a tsunami cam.

I pulled the valve covers and springs were fine. Pulled the rockers and pushrods (1 pushrod was a little off but nothing major) - video in attachments
spark plug has has a little oil - see pic

I know my next step is going to be a leak down test but what are the thoughts here?

One plug does look more oiled than the other, but the pushrod comment caught my eye more. Define "a little off but nothing major"....

If I was a betting man, I would say you floated the valve, and it's tulip shaped now after crashing home against the seat.

yeah I’m just trying to decide if I want to pull the heads or if I should take out the entire engine. Figure now would be a good time to forge the motor and throw some boost at it

Keep in mind the Mechanics Axiom.

Twice the money, three times as long.

I would do a leak down test to make sure you know where the air is going before you yank the head off.

I can't tell you how many threads I see where people pull the heads and can't find anything then come asking for help.

I learned not to make assumptions over 30 years ago. Had an Oldsmobile 350 that took far too many trips to 8500+rpm, so when it started making noise, I agreed with my Dad that it needed to be pulled and replaced. Turned out it spun 1 main bearing. A little hone and a replacement bearing that could have been done on a 1969 Cutlass with the simple drop of an oil pan was instead a total engine replacement with an inferior motor. The inferior replacement (that was all I could afford back then) had bad valve guides and burned more oil than most diesel cruise ships. Make sure you really know what is wrong before wasting time and money on what you "think" it is.

What kind of borescope did you use?Autozone has one as the loan a tool but im not sure it would fit in the spark plug holes. Nice pictures. I had one spark plug number 6 that always had oil when i was changing plugs and swapped it with a different plug the same cylinder still left oil on the plug from same cylinder. As i was doing a compression test all 8 cylinders tested same compression before i swapped 1219 springs and new comp blue valve seals. I haven't pulled the plug yet to see if it was a valve seal issue but not sure why just the one plug with same compression gets coated in oil.
