Default Need Help with Cam and Intake selection!

I have a stock LS1 that is going to go into a 1971 Chevelle SS and have 1 3/4 long tubes, and 799 heads ready. What cam would you guys recommend, and what intake? Looking for around 400-500hp to start off. Looking to stick with Texas Speed parts if possible. Thanks in advance!

Go with a 212/218, .550/.550, 114 cam along with your 799 heads, plus an LS6 intake, and you will have over 400 FWHP.

Dont know exactly the transmission yet most likely a 4l60/4l80 or a t56. And it’s a 10 bolt rear so I believe 3:31 but could be wrong.

Hey Roman,

What are your goals with the car? Very frequent driver or weekend warrior/cruiser? Auto or Manual plays a role in how wild you'd like to go.

Our stage 2 truck 212/218 cam would work well if you would like a stock like driving experience. If you were looking for more power but still retaining a nice driver our 224r on a 114 will also work great, as well as our 228r on a 112lsa. The 228r is what I'd recommend for a all around daily driver with great power across the board, and with some great chop at idle.

For more mild to wild cams, I'd recommend our Torquer v2 or 233/239 cam! Let me know if you have any questions!

WHO are you?
You refer to TSP parts, but give no contact info.
Plus this is your first post here. TSP has been here for ages.

Oooookayyy. It looked out of the blue, plus you didn't link yourself to TSP in the post.

My apologies. I thought I had my Sig viewable, but apparently it wasn't. We haven't been as active on the forums as we used to be so I'm trying to pick up some of the slack!

Roman figure out what transmission. If you go auto I would definitely add a quality stall converter. This will allow a "larger" camshaft to be utilized and you won't have the "Darn it, I should have went bigger on the cam" regrets that happen quite often Personally I wouldn't go anything smaller than a 228 0n a 112. If the late model truck intake fits under the hood, I would go with that. I used an early truck intake on my swap

I’m not trying to be a smarta$$ Gary. Tech is dying. Instead of welcoming a new member, you yell at them with all caps. I don’t care how you feel about this honestly. It’s obvious you don’t either, because I’ve talked with you in the past about stuff like this and you tell me you will watch what you say…but you don’t. TSP sends new blood and you try and scare them off as if it’s your forum. A simple hello or welcome would have been nice. I had to exchange PM’s to clear all this up. We’ve had vendors in the past leave because of you specifically and Corona. You probably didn’t feel right about that either, did you?

The TBSS intake will fit in a 68-72 Chevelle with a couple inches to spare. I had the TBSS, and TSP 224 with the TSP PRC 5.3 2.5 heads. It put down 338hp 310tq 4l60e and a **** 9 inch. That was a 5.3 though. Got boring fast 😂🤣

I only all-capped the "WHO" to call out the fact that he came here assuming we knew he was with TSP, when he had NO contact info in his first post, which got corrected later, for which he apologized. You might have jumped the gun on this with your earlier post. He owned up to the initial anonymity of the first post, which he corrected later.
Plus, he isn't exactly new here, having said he had a previous account from, and I'm guessing, his pre-TSP days.

I would settle for a 224/224 .600 lift cam on a 112. Fast 102 intake. If funds allow get some ported prc ls6 heads or the 227s
