Mild LM7 Build (for an 85 c10)
#22
Nice build, I am looking for a square body to add to my fleet
For exhaust, 2.5 duals, mufflers of your choice, and I would put an H pipe around the end of the transmission, wherever it fits. Straight vs H vs X is mostly affecting the sound, although H does in theory pick up a few ft-lbs down low, and X picks up all over/top end a few ft lbs.
No crossover is usually a little more rough/burble sound
H Pipe is usually a little deeper/mellow sound
X Pipe will sound much higher frequency once revved up.
I run a 9.5 compression 6.0L in my GMC, with 1-7/8"/3" long tubes, dual 2.5, h pipe, large Borla straight through mufflers. I fit my H pipe at/under the transfer case output (I'm 4wd for now..). I have a 223/231 cam, very nice, mild muscle car sound
I run a 11.8:1 compression 403 (6.7L) in my C4 Corvette, with 1-7/8"/3" long tubes, dual 3.0 pipes, X pipe after the transmission yoke, and straight through Magnaflow mufflers. It has a 239/247, and is violently loud, and has much more of an exotic car high pitch scream at high rpm.
