Sorry if this question has been asked before. I am looking for forged rods and pistons for a 3rd gen 4.8, block is in very good shape so I was hoping to leave the block alone (stock stroke and bore) just a quick hone and resurface the mating surfaces. Any input would be much appreciated.
Edit... will be running stock crankshaft.

What is the intended use of the engine? The stock rotating assembly is good for at least 600-700HP.

Some have thrown 1K HP at the stock bottom end with no ill effects, and others grenaded at 750.
If assembled with care and proper clearances, the stock lower end is plenty stout.
Sounds like you are taking some precautions to avoid future issues.
The parts are very good. Assemble with care and quality bearings, gaskets, etc. and you should be fine.

The 4.8 has a strong crank because it’s a shorter arm (stroke). It’s stronger than the 5.3 by a nice margin and loves rpm to boot. Don’t be afraid to throw the adder at it.

Summit has pistons and the correct length rods for a 4.8L.
