Default Need some advice Valve train overhaul time.

So my 01 Camaro SS m6 ford 9" 4.30 gears. factory shortblock is in due for some Valve train upgrades and replacements. Currently it has a custom 236/239 cam ,trick flow 215 heads ,LS7 lifters ,and fast 102.

Looking to going to Johnson's link Bar lifters , Custom cam motion cam (larger than current cam) port the fast and posably get the btr factory style rocker.

The question is what to do for valve springs? I was looking to run the pac 1208x springs as it's a stick car and the possibility of a money shift is always there. But a few have stated it's over kill. What's every one's thoughts? Car curently sees 7k+ alot.

.

I definitely like dual springs in manual cars too etc. Cam Motion will have an excellent suggestion for the right springs, stiff push rods, retainers etc for their cam lobes.

What springs and other parts did Cam Motion suggest for the new custom spec cam they are making for you?

PAC -1208X spec's
  • Spring OD: 1.324
  • Spring ID: 0.694
  • Seat Pressure: 160 LBS @ 1.800
  • Open Pressure: 482 LBS @ 1.100
  • Spring Rate: 460
  • Max Coil Bind: 1.000
  • Max Lift: .750

They recomenrecomended.670 lift spring kit. then followed up with if your not going Over 7500. My response was it's a stick car it's already seen 8k once.
