How many RPMs on stock bottom end?
I've been reading posts on guys changing their rev limiters after a cam swap, how high can you go on stock lower end and expect to keep it together and still have a reliable ride you can depend on? Anyone who has done this, please reply. I would like to know how hard you wind your engine and how often/how long you've been doing so. Thanks! <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />

They seem to do very well if you keep the revs below 6800. Sure they will go higher but the pistons and rod bolts aren't reliable at higher rpms.

My buddy revved his engine to 6800 and sometimes 7000 on a block with ARP rod bolts and forged stock-spec pistons with a TR230/224 and it blew up after three months and 5k. It completely ruined the block. Take it with a grain of salt. I'm gonna set my limiter to 6600 and shift at 6400.

Yea when you get up past 6500 your on borrowed time with the stick rod bolts. Even if you upgrade bolts I still wouldnt push it too far past 6700.
