Back in the day, everyone’s favorite uncle had a GTO and sometimes, he’d dare his passengers to try and grab the $20 bill taped to his dash when he nailed it…and he never lost a nickel. His secret? The mythical 3/4 Race Cam and a flipped air-cleaner lid!
For 50 years, it was thought the only way to make more power than a 3/4 race cam was with a 4/4 Race cam. Well, our crack team went above and beyond for you and the result is the new Big Nasty 5/4 race cam!
How good is it? They’re made in the USA which should tell you something right there buddy! You want ALL THE CHOP? You've come to the right place.
Summit 5/4 race cams have the same overlap of our Stage IVs, so no need to fly cut the factory flat top pistons!
Contrary to the laws of physics, this cam makes the low-end torque of the Torkinators and may pop a wheelie over a soda-pop can.
.550 Lift to work with LS6 Springs and factory push-tubes.
Gearing? This cam makes so much torque gears are no longer required - but 4.11s are always the fastest….just ask your uncle.
Torque Converter Stall Speed? Real Racecars have a stick!
Headers are recommended but bonus points for running Zoomies.
Tuning Required? You better believe it! But if you can tune for one of our Stage IVs, you've got the right stuff to tune the 5/4 Race Cam.
Gas mileage not included.
At this point…you’re probably asking “WHY?” Well, some folks just want CHOP and really don’t care about anything else. We made this cam just for them. It’s equally at home at the Fairgrounds or Demolition Derby.
Ultimately the 5/4 Race cam is a learning tool. It goes against our nature to not give complete specs, but some folks sell cams every day without them and people don't seem to mind. Our goal with the 5/4 Race Cam is to draw attention to the silliness of buying a mystery cam of dubious nature.
We've got a contest going. We're going to send some swag to the customer who comes closest to leaving the correct specs in the reviews. We will update the website with the actual specs then but for right now the 5/4 Race Cam specs will remain a mystery!
Click Here for more (but not a lot more) product information!
Ok, so other than the person who quoted the Holdner vid, my 220/232 106+4 was durn close. What did I win? :-)
Ding Ding Ding, we have ourselves a winner of the "Big Nasty 5/4 Race Cam" contest! Congratulations to @68Formula for guessing the closest cam specs for the SUM-8733R1His guess was 220/232 106+4 and the actual specs are 218/230 105+3 providing 14* of overlap. All the CHOP
With the choice of any Pro LS cam or a Summit Racing gift card of equal value, he went with the gift card. That's a good way to spread out additional funds towards multiple parts of a project.
Thanks to everyone for joining in on the fun and participating in the contest!

Ugh. Hold the phone. I just got notified the contest is fine AS LONG AS it’s not in the reviews. The potential melee could make it hard for potential customers to get honest feedback on the cams. This makes sense so we’re creating an email address created for people to send the numbers too. And some rules. And figuring out what swag we’d send. THOSE little details… The main condition is someone needs to use a degree wheel and actually figure it out. It’s been a hot minute since anyone needed to use those with any of our cams, but this is supposed to be EDUCATIONAL lol. We ARE enjoying the guesses though. Keep them coming. Let’s hear your logic. And thank you for your understanding. Sometimes a parts designer should leave marketing to the people that know what they are doing.
I've got my own cam degree setup with a spare block,
I just don't have an extra 300 bucks right now I have to buy my kid a Nintendo switch for Christmas but if somebody wants to send me a cam I'll degree it and if you want me to put it in my Camaro and work a little bit on the drivability tuning requirements and give feedback I'd have to charge you. I guess just send me the cam for free and then I can give feedback. Sounds good : )

You guys are the greatest lol. Put a smile on my face going into the weekend. Thank you.
Overlap... ALL OF IT!!! 😂😂😂
So lift like an 02-04 LS6 cam.. With chop needing 4.10s.. Sorry, 4.11s ...
My guess with cathedral heads in mind.. 251/256 dur @.050 and LSA 107+1 ??

Reason: Edit
Going off what you said about the overlap being shared with the STAGE IV cam, naming the lift, chop likely being derived from a super-tight LSA, and that you don't need to flycut the pistons since the valve events for the above are a near-match for the STAGE IV cam. Plus... Lots of 4's and 5's.
Thanks for doing something off the wall and entertaining.
