Default High Volume Oil Pump with Holley 302-2?

I'm rebuilding my 5.3 for a boosted application so I've considered running a high volume oil pump.
I've just only been reading some that the high volume oil pumps have a tendancy to starve the pans of oil before the oil can return to the pans.
I'm especially concerened because I'm using the lower profile Holley 302-2 pan in my Chevy Nova.
Anyone have experiance with this pan and a high volume pump? Did it really starve the motor of oil?

If you're building the engine for boost, with greater clearances than stock, then the high volume pump is what you want. Bearing clearance causes a controlled leak within the engine, and with tight factory clearances, the oil can't flow past through the bearings as readily. A high volume pump on a stock engine could suck the pan dry. However, opening up clearances means the controlled leak will be greater, meaning oil returns to the pan faster. I just installed a Melling 10296 pump in the 5.3 I built for boost, with .0027-.0030 on the mains and .0022-.0025 on the rods. I'm not concerned with the pump sucking the pan dry, and I have an F-body pan. I think you'll be fine, IF you're building greater bearing clearances into the bottom end.

Heh, I was going by stories I heard many years ago about people installing high volume pumps and then having bearing failures on stock engines. Go figure, lol.
