L76 /LS2 rebuild kit for an LQ4?
Hey All,
I'm in Australia with a LQ4 6.0L iron block that I'm going to rebuild for a turbo application/option as a backup motor for my LS1 powered 3rd gen transam.
Because the LQ4 motors never came out in anything over here, no-one has the rebuild kits for a decent price here, and the closest we have is the LS2 and L76 6.0 motors.
My question is, can I purchase a L76/LS2 rebuild kit to cover the majority of parts (gaskets, bearings, timing chain and oil pump) and what parts would differ that I'd need to get specific for LQ4?

The ly6 is a gen 4 which has the better rods but other than that they are all the same. I have a LQ4 with gen 4 rods and wiseco dome pistons and a gen 3 crank
really no hard parts are different just buy a cam and a ly6 "rebuild" kit and send it as long as you're using oem crank, rods then bearings won't be an issue just get standard bearings I went with kings xp with .001 more clearance on rod and mains
