Default Affordable rotating assemblies are just around the corner!

SLP is putting together some low cost but high quality rotating assemblies that can be used with GM's LQ9 iron 6.0-liter block. 383 and 402 cubic inch displacements will be available. Here is a quick rundown of what they are producing and what we will have to offer -

ZL 383 - low compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
3.899" heavy-duty, high-compression 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
383-CID displacement
9:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for forced-induction applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

ZL 383 - high compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
3.899" 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
383-CID displacement
10.8:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for naturally aspirated applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

ZL 402 - low compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" heavy-duty, low-compression, 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
402-CID displacement
9:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for forced-induction applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

ZL 402 - high compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
402-CID displacement
11.3:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for naturally aspirated applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

More details for each of these can be found on our website. Pricing for each kit is $2499.99. We're currently taking pre-orders and should be able to start shipping around the 1st of September.

$2500 is cheap??? $2000 gets you a killer Eagle setup with h-beam rods and diamond forged pistons

There was a typo above. It should have said -

ZL 402 - high compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
402-CID displacement
11.3:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for naturally aspirated applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

and

ZL 402 - low compression -

4.000" 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" heavy-duty, low-compression, 2618 forged alloy pistons (includes new rings and full-float pin)
6.125" I-beam rods
402-CID displacement
9:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for forced-induction applications
Includes new rod and crank main bearings

I'm going to see what brands these are on Monday. There are other stroker assemblies that sell for over $3500. so this is a big difference in price.

Here are some info that I received for the short blocks today -

Production 6.0 block
Internally balanced rotating assembly
SLP sped'd Eagle 4" crankshaft
SLP spec'd 4" pistons, 2618 forging (Ross or Manley). N/A version - approx - 1.2:1. Heavy duty forced induction version approx 9:1. Compression ratios are nominal, ultimate compression ratio wil depend on the heads and gaskets that are used.
Assembly is meticulously assembled to OEM tolerances and specifications.
Oil pump, timing chain, camshaft, pans, plates and covers not included.

Damn ! think of the boost you could run with only 1.2:1 compression

.

I like that part the best. OEM tolerances on our motor is tighter than the aftermarket.

Looks like something to look into in the future.

Hmm looks like SLP might earn their way onto my mod list after all. I too like the OEM tolerances bit goin on there. I'm gonna have to keep my eye on these packages.
