What type of oil pumps are you big bore and high HP # guys running? Couldn't find a Melling so now I'm thinking the stock one is good enough. Any thoughts?

Re: Oil Pumps for Big bore engines
Its my understanding that most of the superstroker big cubed LS1/6 Motors (including my new 427 LQ4) use the stock LS1/6 oil pump which has been modified to handle the needs of the big motor. Upon cold start up i am making between 50 to 55 psi, on the highway and at WOT making between 50 and 61psi and when stopped at a light with foot on the brake (A4) the psi dips into the 30s and comes right up toward 45 to 50 when start to drive at slower speeds.
Hope that helps.
