I like the comment aobut what are kids coming to these days, LS1 into an RX7. Hensonsupercars.com has been doing it for quite a while and there's quite a few rex ls1's in the conversion section. Why not? Light *** car, bad *** american small block. What more could ya want

Malicious... the RX7 isn't that light compared to, say, a FRC or Z06 'Vette... according to Hinson's site, the finished LS1 RX7 weighs a little over 2800 pounds. FRC/Z06 'Vettes only weigh about 200 pounds more. Don't get me wrong, 200 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, but the difference isn't all THAT great.
I bought an RX7 intending to do the swap, but have since changed my mind because of several factors... I'd like to sell it and get an FRC.

I think RX7s with LS1s are pretty cool.
I have a '94 RX7 in fact (mildly modded to 12s in the 1/4.)
There are no fast 4 cylinder streetcars in Alabama...at least I've never seen one.

I would bet money on the 408 ls1 to smoke the **** out of the ricer even with 500 whp. I've seen videos of 500 hp honda's race fast vipers and vettes and they are very fast, but the torque of the v8 gets a good lead and the honda can't catch up even on the top end, but it sure tries hard and comes close.

Here is a graph of a local head/cam stock bottom end LS1 with nitrous.
I'm also in the process of finding a 93+ RX7 for my LS1 swap. I also have a 93 Civic SI what weights 2540lbs and traps 134 on pump gas and 142 on C116. Here is my last dyno graph. I had to switch from low boost to high boost in the middle of the run to keep half *** tracking on the dyno.
This is 25-26psi c116 no nitrous anywhere on the car.

I wouldn't say its easy to run bottom 10's high 9's in a honda. Its not hard to make the power but it gets tough to put it to the ground. I think as of now there is 5-7 total street hondas running in the 9's. Hell I ran the same ET in my car with 531whp and 620whp just a different mph.

I didnt say it was easy to run low 10's, with traction issues it takes great skill. my comment was saying that people would be suprised to find out that it takes only about half of what they would guess. to break 11's (10.99 or less) as far as money goes that is..
and the other comment about 9 second street hondas. well that came from...link I know of people who have broken 10's in a honda for less than what I payed for my stock t/a and cost of the car is included. and the car still runs strong 3 years later and going. pretty impressive stuff.

675rwhp on 93 Octane
844rwhp on 110 with only 17psi. What do 13b's make at 17psi?
