Tin indian, thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Keep in mind even the LS6 valley cover doesn't cure ALL the usage, but it does reduce it. I'm glad you liked the writeup, I hope to have more eventually that f-body guys can use.

DaleMX, correct.

Good luck to you all. I've done this mod and it didn't make one bit of difference. Oil was still getting in the intake. The only other two people I know of that have done this as well had the same results. I put my catch can back on. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Well, I now have about 3,000 miles on the car since installing the heads, cam, headers, LS6 valve covers and LS6 intake manifold. I pulled my TB today and found oil around the back side of the throttle plate, and in the inlet of my new LS6 manifold. In fact, there was a fair amount of oil in the manifold. I wonder if this explains [some] of my knock retard.

The car has 1,500 miles since the last oil change. The oil level is just about where it was at after I changed it. May have used about 1/8th of a quart. So, my PCV is not sucking massive amounts of oil, but the wet intake manifold don't lie. Also, there is oil in the PCV vacuum tube that attaches to the manifold.

I wonder if this mod would keep the intake completely dry? Looks like "INMY01TA" didn't have much luck with the mod.

How bout the rest of you that have done this? Anyone with enough miles on this mod to make a real conclusion?

It is definitly one of those "your milage may vary" mods. Some people have installed it and got less oil usage, some feel they have the same. Maybe some of it depends on the condition of your rings? I know that a catchcan on my old camaro would suck up WAY too much oil through the valve covers, and somebody else I know uses a catchcan+LS6 pcv and sucks up a whole bunch less.

Maybe a combination is the key.
