LS6 valves vs. LS1 valves? Any difference?
LS6 valves vs. LS1 valves? Any difference? I am getting LS1 GTP S1 heads and they have stock valves. Would replacing the valves with LS6 valves have any positive or negative effects? Are the valves interchangeable? Thanks

The LS6 are hollow sodium filled valves that are considerably lighter. This allows you engine to rev more freely, and rev higher, with much less possibility of valve float. A good set of springs, LS6 valves, titanium retainers, and some lightweight rockers would make an excellent valvetrain....hmmm.

I have Manley doubles, Ti rets, seats, locks, LS6 valves
Where do I get lightweight rockers? What rockers do I need for Comp 224 .563 114 LSA with GTP S1 heads? Thanks

That is a 23% drop it weight. Should be significant, but I've never seen a dyno comparison of ls1 vs ls6 valves swap :/

Dont worry about replacing your rockers, the stockers are pretty darn good and up to the task. As said above the LS6 valves are sodium filled and quite a bit lighter -> less stress on the valvetrain. Check a little deeper on the valves though, i know they are a little longer which should not cause an issue, but I could have sworn they were a different shape as well. Try a search on this site and re-post this topic asking about the shape/compatibility of the LS6 valve with an LS1 head.

My buddy told me that they are longer and may not work well?
