Engine noise, compression test and HELP!
Okay, I've got a weird squeak/scrape noise coming from the #2 cylinder. I narrowed it down to the location by using the screwdriver and putting it on different points. The noise is RPM relates, and sounds like a top end engine noise... (cause of the rate it happens) My brother said the noise resembles the noise a rocker makes when it's not getting oil on his '65 mustang
I checked compression on the driver side bank and got:
1) 165
3) 162
5) 172
7) 150
I don't think I held the key long enough for #7 cylinder to get an accurate reading.
As far as I can tell, those numbers appear to be normal-ish. I also pulled the valve cover and checked the rocker/pushrod/springs.... All appear to be okay, they're getting oil and aren't out of place at all. The spring has an orange stripe on it, so I don't know what that is...but...it looks like it was painted on so I'll leave it be.
Anyone have any ideas?
