Default Thumbs up to MTI!

I just wanted to share my experience from MTI. I have been slowly buying mods from them and never once had a bad experience experience. I had my torque converter installed and had torque management issues, so I had Jayson from MTI work on the computer. The car ran very strong and much more responsive with the tuning. With just a lid, macheaders and pullies, the car dynoed 337hp. I had MTI install my X1 cam and ls6 intake, the result was 390 hp at the wheels. I was really impressed and did not think that I would gain 53hp with a cam and intake. Thanks to Chris Witt, Jayson, and LLoyd, Yall were the most professional guys to work with. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> Future mods are MTI stageII heads.

BIGBOS, How big was your motor when you ran the x cam? 382. Just curios on how it idled, I love the idle mine has with the 346.

Congratulations on the setup! Picking up 53hp with a cam and intake is definitely astounding. I'd be pretty happy if I were you as well. Not too shabby making 390rwhp through an A4!

This set up sounds a LOT better than the guy who paid $6000+ and got S2 heads and the X1 cam and made less power than you did.... interesting.

So this makes me wonder.... if you're running an X1 cam and the other guy is running S2 heads + the X1 cam.... does that mean that the S2 heads don't make any power and are a waste of money??

Here's the thread I'm talking about....
https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...c;f=1;t=011949

The guy made within 3rwhp of what you made with S2 heads. Sounds to me like something is up. You guys have pretty much the exact same car mod for mod, except for the pullies. Let's say the pullies are worth 10.... that still doesn't account for the difference in power.

Once again, congratulations on the outstanding power.... it's pretty rare for a bolt-on/cam car to make 390rwhp through an A4.

Later,

E

I think thats an easy 25+rwhp that he could gain by upgrading w/ exception of the 12 bolt of course.

You and I both know that the pulley is not worth 10 on the dyno, it's worth more like 5, but ALWAYS shows .1 at the track. The car he has is a 2002 car, why wouldn't it have the LS6 intake on there??

I understand that the car is tuned for nitrous.... but, why are the torque numbers so low both on motor and on nitrous??? 419rwtq is horrible for the car being on spray.

A1S2d3F4 I live in Sugarland, maybe we can meet up someday.I love the idle, It sounds mean and BIGBOS is right it shakes the door while open the motor really lopes hard. I would not change the cam, anything smaller would not sound as well and anything more it would not idle. I think stage II heads would give me 420-430 maybe I really do not know. $$$

I haven't gotten to hear the X1 cam yet, but I have heard that they make good power. That's kind of what started the whole reverse split pattern influx.

When a1s2d3f4 goes to check it out, I'd like to check it out as well if you don't mind.

Take it easy.
