Default 10 second cam

I just got a set of PP stage 3 "ls6 style" heads with the "race port" hand finish option, 2.08 & 1.60 valves, and 59cc chambers. I am looking for 10's. Its an all bolt on m6 car, 346ci. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What are you doing with the heads if its an all bolt-on car?

Give them to me if they are just going to be shiny doorstops or something.

Also, you'll need a little extra to get 10's out of an M6 car.

Like loose a bunch of weight, big traction/gearing, etc.

If the car makes the power, Ill get 10's. The driving part is not a problem.

Try the beast cam from speed demon. Just about as extreme as you can go without having to worry about blowing up your motor. The t-rex cam has apparently been blowing up motors.

most important part from what i hear to get in the 10's with a smaller amount of power is just make sure to get your weight down. the lighter the better, and faster.

TSP's Magic Stick cam. If you didn't get your heads shaved, then you won't need to have your pistons notched. This will get you very close. If it doesn't, put a small shot on and you'll definitely see tens. BTW, what did the stage 3 "ls6" heads run you?

I actually got them "used" off a member on this site. They were brand new still in the original packaging and I got them for $1500. Oh, and it HAS to be n/a!

TSP Magic Stick v1 or v3, see sig, i also have the race heads and I am running 10.9's easy in the Texas heat and humidity right now...have to wait till January to catch the real good air here, and then I hope to see some mid 10's. Oh yeah, and I dont run an elec. water pump or anything like that, no short belt (yet), and still have the stock LS6 intake and stock ported TB. When money becomes available I hope to add the LSX intake and a matching TB.
As stated, with the right weight, gearing, tires and driving skill, you should have NO problems running 10's with this setup.

Where did you hear that??? I have heard of only one person throwing a rod but that was probably because of 114,000 miles on the car.

They are running a 4.10 gear (stock 10 bolt) , with a 4400 stall...You will need to get your weight down. I believe the majority of the rear suspension is stock as well, inlcuding the Tq Arm. I know they have changed spring and shocks upfront as well...I'm sure Clint or Lynda will chime in here soon and let you know. It is a sweet *** ride. Perfectly streetable too.

Cam too big, high revs 7000k and bottom end stock (not designed for that) so it throws a rod. Usually due to stock rod bolt failure.

With an M6?

I wish it was that easy

It is that easy. I haven't ran into a stalled auto that can sixty, or anything else as well as I can(assuming identical mods). As stated before, the driving part is of absolutely no concern for me. I run times at the track that cars with twice my mods cant run. A HUGE part of good track times is the driving, and I've got that down.

Cams don't blow up motors. Undereducated installers blow up motors.

Back on topic, the trex might not be a bad choice for your goals, but before you choose a cam, you've got to do a lot of math on your heads. Let the heads tell you what cam they need. sometimes a giant cam will net you no more of a gain than a smaller one will. It all comes down to what works best WITH your heads, not the cam by itself.
