Heads and Cam
Going to install Patriot Performance Stage II 5.3 heads with 225/225 .589/.589 112LSA this weekend. Hoping everything goes well.
I have one question. My only concern is lining up the two dots on the camshaft/crankshaft sprocket. How difficult is it to do? I purchased the rollermaster single chain and sprocket set. I watched my friends 98 TA a few years back bend 3 valves, because he had it 5 degrees off. (One of the stock sprockets had 2 dots.)
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Personally, I put a little white paint on the dots so I can see them properly. Then you got to look at them from top or bottom, not from the front so you can get a better view of the line up.
Also before teardown, line up the existing cam dot to dot, that will help also with crank position, then mark the crank stub to the block (white paint again).
Maybe those tips will help, it does for me.

Everything is installed finally! Thought it was never going to end. My only concern is the new valve train noise. (Yes I did use the search button! ) Rather loud. It made us sit back and wonder for a while. Other than that, it sounds awesome. Hopefully the sound that I hear in the valve train is similar to everyone else's. Has anyone had a decrease in valvetrain noise as time went by?

I get to enjoy the experience here soon myself...soon as the ride gets back from AMS....just waitin on my clutch to get in. Then after I break the Spec 3 in, in goes my 231/237.
