My car is a daily driver i drive it to work, school, GF house, track, movies etc. all day long every day. It drives like stock...(Well in principal) i give it gas and it goes.... real fast.

Anyways it's all up to each person. i don't mind the lope of a 237-242 cam and the roar od Lg long tubes/ no cats, or the tire shredding torque of 410 gears.

To Each His Own.

I also agree with Chris. If you drive your stuff every day then it a daily driver. The querks of your amount of mods that you are willing to deal with is everyones limit of what is streetable. Some people can drive a 427 solid roller combo everyday, where some people complain about there Hot cam and heads not being near stock driveable enough. If you think your car is the fastest "daily driver" then you also have to realize that there are other people that drive their stuff around everyday that you consider "race only".

When I had my 220/220-112 in the truck - I loved the sound of the idle, but my girlfriend said it sounded like a boat. (she must hear some nasty boats?). From what I understand, the 220/220-112 will idle a lot better than the Hotcam - so if your girlfriend is anything like mine, she probably won't care for it.
you just nailed that 100% marc......I have been considering the TR220 but was concerned about using the stock converter until the money comes for the TT2600 (I can still handle that in a daily-driver".....is the one you pulled out for sale ???

Good thread. I figured I would give my 2 cents. 1. Must never see any race gas in it or fuel additives 2. must be able to drive reliably any where in the country and your mian mode of transportation 3. when it goes to the track run it like you drive it (it don't mean **** to say what it runs on skinnies and street slicks if you drive around on 17's or 18's ) 4. should be able to drive at normal highway speeds (60-85 mph) 5. should retain factory options I drive my SS every day so mpg and tire wear is a factor besides skinnies and street drags do not make for a well handleing or well stopping street car. My SS runs 11.8 @ 119.4 on 18's gets 20-22 mpg in town 25-29 mpg highway and i drive it everwhere. I like driving it and why build a car your supposed to like driving but cant or can't afford to drive. Best of all it has a stock 02 ls6 crate engine very reliable. My motto " keep it simple stupid " .

The reason I'm asking this in Internal Engine is because I want to make 100% certain that a GM LS1 HOT cam and ported heads qualify by my standards as "daily drivable"
1. Definately daily driveable.

2. Don't get the hotcam. Do more research, you'll find something much better.

"Stock" is the best example of a daily driver.

I'm 100% with you. The engine should produce a lot of torque between 2500 and 4000 rpm (especially in a truck). This is where you are most of the time in the street.
