Default Ordering Valve Seals?

Hey Guys,

So I am going to do a valve spring swap and want to buy new valve seals. I found GM part #s for both intake and exhaust but I am not sure if that is for a set (gmpartsdirect lists it as a seal kit) or single seal. (i.e. do I need to order 1 or 8?) Anyone order GM valve seal kits?

When I bought my GM seals, the part#s were different for intake vs. exhaust and the seal material colors were also different (brown vs. black).

The part#s are on here somewhere if you search, I had the dealer look them up (1998 Z28) and the numbers matched.

Are you going to be using single or double springs?

I have some in my hands, the tan ones are #12482062 and the black ones are # 12482063. There are eight in each.

Hmmm those are different than the numbers on LS1howto for an Fbody spring swap... Brown 12457652 Black 12533586. Gmparts direct lists all of them as valve seal kit. Does the F-Body have different seals than the C5?

Thanks,

Those part numbers are the ones I use on my heads and are the direct replacement for the 2002 Pontiac firebird. These I use because they have the spring cup made on them so they may not work in your application because of the dual spring set up you have.

You can't use the 02 and up one piece spring seat/seal with doubles. You need to use the 97-01 seals. The are sold in packages of 8.
