TSP 231/237 installed
Just had my TSP 231/237 installed in my 99 C5 vert, along with ls6 intake, better flowing filter, UD pulley, and 160 thermo. Numbers before install were 306RWHP and 33?RWTQ. After install came out with 354RWHP and 370RWTQ. I had long tube headers, a 3500 stall converter and 3.73's. for both dynos. The car has really woken up, feels great, tune is awesome, it actually idles pretty nice. Not a lot of shake at all. Now I just need to get some new track #'s. I think ill finally reach my quest for 11's
i cant wait to get mine put in. those hp number seem odd though from what i've seen this cam makes way more hp than tq but in your case it seems to be opposite. have any graphs? also what dyno was it on mabey thats whats throwing me off. but still if it runs good thats all that matters
yeah, 306 with long tubes 3.73s and 3500 stall converter. I was pretty much stock as far as intake goes. I dont have a scanner, but my TQ peaks at what appears to be right round 4100rpms, and HP #'s peak at 6400 RPM's. The HP looks like it would keep climbing if it werent for the rev limiter being set there.
Im not sure what kind of dyno it was, but my sheet says Winpep Dynojet performance evaluation program if that sheds any light.

Still kinda low numbers for lt's. Glad your car woke up after the cam and ls6 intake. I'm going to have to get my car on a dyno before I do the swap so I have some before numbers, but after I get lt's, with the 231/237 I'm hopin to be somewhere around 400 to the rear wheels.
Oh yea. I have to break in my brand new Spec 3 first. Had to replace the clutch for a very stupid reason, so I just went with the Spec 3. Grabs like a sonuvabitch....just gotta stay off the gas for a while. So I'm keepin the cam out til then. Also want to install headers same time as cam, cuz otherwise I'll be chokin her.

Did you have a tune???
If you do...., where do you and anyone else with this cam have the red line set. I think mine is around 6300. I think that is shy yet as the car is still pulling nice before the shift. I still have the stock 273's in so I am going to wait till I get them 3.73's in ( six months of being in back order and still no thick gear
) to see if that changes anything since I had the tuner tune it for them right away. Last edited by speedo; Sep 11, 2004 at 10:58 AM.
That cam seems like it would respond MUCH differently with a set of ported heads. A lot of larger cams wont perform as well with stock heads as a more conservative duration would.
Well it doesn't help that he has an A4 C5 either. I didn't take that into consideration when I first posted. Between the A4 drivetrain loss and the IRS loss....yea, he'll end up lower then many. But that won't stop him from flyin down the 1/4 if he can hook.

Are you running the hardened pushrods? I would set that rev limiter at about 6800rpm!

They are the same lifters than a Z06 and those climb till 6800 all day long.
