Default Learned something from CraneCams tech line

I upgraded my valve springs to the Crane dual 144832. Just out of curiosity I called Cranes tech line and asked if there is a brake in procedure. The tech on the phone said NO in a tone like I was crazy for asking that question. If the tech said there is no brake in then why does everybody say that there is?

no offence but some times the "tech" in techline isnt much. its your car and you can do what you want but think about it, whats the con of heat cycling your springs? we all know the con of not doing it

Hey stranger. I've got the Crane duals on my car. I heat cycled 5 times (yes I'm kinda ****). Then proceded (after warming the oil temp to 160 degrees) with a couple of 4 grand clutch dumps and burnouts.

This is kind of related to this topic but Ive always wondered.

What temp does everyone wait before they start driving their car during the warm up period?

I don't wait for any certain temp. Start the car, wait 30 seconds, go open gate, idle slowly out of gate, close gate, and drive slow to the end of my street. Plenty warm by then. Maybe 2 minutes for the whole routien.

My Vette has an oil temp screen on the driver display. I usually wait till it's at 140 degrees. Or about two minutes after the car reaches 180 degrees water temp.
