IF the oil pumps are the same, why do people suggest that you change the oild pump if/when you do a cam swap? If they are the same then why change it from an LS1 to an LS6 pump, can someone clearify this for me please?

when you have an oppertunity to take the pump off you should have it blueprinted. this involves a machinig operation. this is a service that we offer.
we can also shim the bypass if you are going to add a oil cooler kit.
idon't know the cost offhand around $70,00 exchange.

TPiS/Myron post above is a valid alternative to buying a new off-the-shelf pump. You'll know it's righteous when you bolt it on.
I saw his stuff at the National F-Body Motorsports Event this past Summer at Indy Raceway Park, they know what they're doing with the LS1 & LT1.
