5.3 heads How much machining will have to be done to make 2.055/1.60 valves work in a 5.3 liter. Also would it benefit me to go any bigger? Say maybe a 2.08 or a 2.10 intake valve? Also what about the 1.60 Tupic head exhaust valve, what's the difference between it and the regular 1.60 exhaust valves ferrea makes? Is it worth buying?

The stock exhaust valve seat will handle a 1.60" valve but you will have to put bigger seats in on the intake side. The difference in the valves are the shape of them, depending of the style of port work one will out flow the other by a few cfm.

Since i'm pretty much gonna have to put in bigger valve seats what size valve should i use. I've saw them as big as 2.1 intake or is that to big? Also what about the 2.08's or the 2.055 intake valves? I just want to squeeze as much power as i can out of these heads so nothing is really out of the question.

what size bore is this motor a 2.055 valve is as big as i would go on a 3.9 bore on a 4.00 bore i would only use a 2.08 on a power adder engine 4.100 or larger is when i would start thinking about using a 2.100
if you are home porting this head for a 5.7 or small motor your best bet is to use a ferrea 2.02
and use the stock exhaust valve

Yes, the intake are the original 1999 2.00 that came in my car and the exhaust are production 1.55 out of a set of 2002 silverado 5.3 heads I ported for a friend(he upgraded to Ferrea 2.02/1.60, I kept the stock ones).

git_sum, give us a call at 1-866-627-1009 and we can help answer your questions in detail, as far as the 5.3L heads as has been said, I would go no bigger than 2.055/1.60 on an NA engine. also consider the stock 5.3L exhaust valve as it flows very well.

He gets me by a car every time we line up to run on the street. We figured the increase in compression and maybe more flow on the bigger valve was probably why since he has a Hot cam too. Our cars are 20 lbs away from each other, he didnt flow them because it was a rushed weekend job since he works so much and needed his car.
