Jim, did you end up fixing this problem?

My SS has developed a ticking noise that is evident from 1100 -> 1700 rpms when hot. When the car is cold, there is a squeak like the belt tensioner is in need of lube. It is NOT the belt slipping as I have tried belt dressing. This squeak goes away when the car warms up, but the ticking starts.

I'm suspect of a loose rocker arm, bent pushrod, or exhaust leak. My FLP's have always leaked, I'm praying that is all this is.

I wish Gary from NLP wasn't so busy.. let him check this crap out.

I replaced the lifters and the noise went away. Although upon inspection (and I still have the old ones) I couldn't see anything unusual save for some small lines on the roller tip.

I flushed the oil/filter about 200 miles after that, and I'll be changing my filter again soon. Probably cut it open to see what's in there. Maybe even send off an oil sample.

I've never had a pinhole exhaust leak - the only one I've had was when my EGR tube broke off. Twice. That was pretty easy to locate

Are you comfortable checking the rocker bolts, pushrods, etc?

Yeah, I did the camswap a few weeks back. I just don't have the time to do it unfortunately.
