Look for a used Procharger (or save for a new one)!

You're making 407 with a 231/237 and LS6 heads? That seems a little low.

I'd say go FI. Put the money aside til you get some more and get a Procharger or a turbo setup.

That or get your heads ported by someone like TEA. That would REALLY help out(didn't see you mention if they were ported, just that they were decked).

1) adjustable shocks. you have the torque and the tire for a better 60' but it doesnt look like youre doing too well with traction.
2) dual stage or progressive controller for your old N20 setup to make the hit less violent(or with the controller, not violent at all)
3) electric water pump
4) lightweight drag racing wheels
5) fiberglass hood
6) lightweight K-member and A-arms

i dont know how much that all comes out to but those are some things that you dont have listed and i know the sponsors could easily get them for you.

No i am reaely turned off by nitrous i do not like the hit it is to explosive for me.

that is the trouble right now i do not know where to go from here have to be able to take car of all cobras and the the ls7 vet coming out. The is to much invested in the car to just sell it and but a new vet pluss i do not like vetts and will keep my f-body till i die. Wife clame i am cheating on her with the (Black Bitch) as she calls her. And to add i sold the kit becaus i did not want any part of it.

And yes you are right the heads ansd just stock not ported. but i can not see paying 1000 for 20hp at the most buy having thm ported.

I think you might want to talk to Brian T. over at TEA. Their stage 2 LS6's are makin a little more then 20 hp under the curve You'd be suprised what under the curve power will do for your times. How many seconds down the quarter does your car spend @ 6k rpms? Not nearly as many as they do between 4k and 6k

Yeah I would suggest having heads ported, but if you are thinking of FI then rething your head selection to maybe a set of 6.0L with the bigger combustion chambers etc.A dual stage setup on the nitrous wouls really help the hard hit you are talking about too. Also weight savings K-member and A-arms could shave a few ten's off. If you go FI just get ready there are a lot of other cost's around it like the fuel system just read a little in the fuel injection section and you wil see what I am talking about I will tell you that my FI set up is kinda violent also but it is a smooth hit but comes on very strong and keeps pulling. I try to explain it like a two stroke motorcycle like when the power band kicks in and it just takes off it is very simular. I hate to tell others what to do with their money when the goverment tells us what to do with so much of it already!LOL!

let me know if i am thinking right would you spend any money on porting heads that have been decked .10 it seames that the porting company has all the powere here if some thing happens all thy will say is we did not touch them first so you are **** out of luck give me 3000 for a new set of heads.

so what i am getting is spend money on weight or a procharger. that lends me to think what will my stock bottom end do on a FI set up should i get a 427 set up on the short end and build from there.????????

Sounds like you want a larger motor or a blower. Either will cost you *well* north of $3K. For a 427 expect to spend at least $20K.

20k for a 427?

maybe if you are starting with nothing and need to buy all your accessories and get raped on the install.

you can get a 427 for like 5k

The C5R block itself is more than $5K. Add another $3K for heads and you're just getting started. Obviously there are less expensive blocks and less expensive packages, but, you're still not going to get a 427 for anywhere near $3K (posters budget).

Just do the correct nitrous setup and be gold.
A progressive controller would work well and so would a 3 stage setup.
The nitrous will then feel more like a turbo then nitrous.
Its a real neat feel, make the car feel like its all motor power because you never feel a hit of any kind but your MPH climes like a ****.
