ok, let me tell yah, the hot cam is not the cam you are looking for if you need an emmisions cam... its 49 state legal for a reason

Could someone post a graph of the flat torque curve the H.C. is giving?

Interested.

why not try the gm perf parts asa cam 226/236 duration .525/.525 lift 110 lobe sep. offers great durability and more power over the hot cam and will drive fine with a tune. the torque curve is very nice too. with some good flowing heads and free flowing exhaust you could make a stong running combination.

why would you buy a cam for just the sound? thats a lot of money and effort when, as JRP has stated, you could just lower your idle. and bryan ttm, i think you need your own thread for that bud.

how come EVERY Hotcam thread turns out this way?

why don't we all just get the same cams and have the same mods, runs the same times and make the same power on the dyno!

people get different cams for different reasons... don't flame them for it!

Just sold a hotcam only car
~3480lbs raceweight, 1248 ft. da, 16" wheels, no skinnies. 4.10 geared 10 bolt. NOT DYNO TUNED (never seen a dyno). Stock TB in place.

The new owner made one and ONLY ONE pass on his way home. 12.08@116.8 on a 1.87 60ft.

What a POS huh. Point me to all the other cams that are less aggressive than a T-rex or G5X-2, etc., that run THAT MUCH BETTER with a similar setup.

The ones that run quicker typically have skinnies, or lower raceweight, or in a better DA, and a dyno tune, etc. etc.

Haha, internet-hype is still alive and doing well in the cam debate I see.

Excellent. For once the hotcam owners in the forum are uniting.

I like my cam and every thread that mentions it ends up like this oh well to each his own about the only cam I have thought about replacing it with is the ASA cam, soon as my 918 springs show up I will be putting in some HS 1.8 Rockers, thats my only advice put in some higher lift capable springs, so if you ever decide to go bigger and increase lift you won't be changing springs.

I like mine, I am going way way bigger but that is with a new set of ported heads, so Hot cam not a bad choice with stock heads and I have no tune and the car runs 12.3's but I am trying to get her over the 400hp mark because i dynoed 370/368 with out a tune and LS1 intake, now I have the LS6 intake and ported TB will be getting a pulley and Dyno tune, so 400rwhp and a car that hopefully will run 11's and not only a cam only car but the hot cam only car that gets dogged day and night! It may not be the best but it is NOT the worst! and you'll save 300-400 dollars compared to the others.
but I am going bigger, It did everything I wanted, had a buget wanted a cam picked it up for a few hundered bucks the rest is history..

That dyno run was September of 2003. The cam had been in for 2 months, and the car was on stock programming.
