RedrocketLS1, We have the perfecr set up for you. We have a hand full of guys that have done what you want to do & it works great! The LS1 stock crank is a very nice crank, so with a nice set of rods pistons and rings you should be on your way. This is what I have for you.......
*Crower Sportsman 6.125 I beam rods $435.00
*Wiseco flat top pistons for3.905 bore $449.95
*JE 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 file fit rings $146.85
*Clevitte 77 rod & main bearings $72.55
You should be able to get your rotating assembly balanced for around for around $200.00. Not a bad price for a good solid rotating assembly! Let me know if I can help!!

A good rod and piston combo IMHO which is pretty light, is shelf stock, and is reasonably priced also are some of the parts from Probe. There is a Probe 6.125" rod with a forged piston which compares favorably with the stock rod/piston combo for weight and has 4 cc valve reliefs. I think it might be less than the Weisco/Crower combo, but I can't say for sure.

I was just out in the warehouse and noticed we have a set of 3.903 bore pistons in stock. If anyone is looking, I would be willing to make a deal

i run a setup like your looking for. i got a custom pistion cut for spray. 1000
then i got rods, lunati pro mod come wth bolts. 600, eagle are a tad cheeper. i polished my own rods for oil issues.
arp mains and head studs well worth it. stock crank nitrated new berings. if you talk to tom at speed inc he can get the right stuff for you, and building the motor will save money. if not ESP>>>>> knows exactly what you need, and they are very affordable and build alot of 347 motors like mine and the one you want.
