Is the Ron Jeremy cam to big for my set-up
Well I'm still trying to decide on a cam. I'm considering the 236/239 .600/.611 111 LSA "Ron Jeremy" Cam. I've heard this cam and I really like how it sounds. Sound is a big thing for me but I need to make sure its going to make the power in the 4500-6500rpm range. You can check my sig for all my mods but the most important is my 3800 vigilante torque converter. It seems to stall to about 4000-4200. I'm not sure what my shift extension is but I don't think my rpms drop below 4500. Does that sound about right? Its hard for me to tell, when I floor it I tend to look straight ahead I'd like a little advice but I would really like a dyno on the RJ cam so I can see where its making its power. I want a cam thats going to stay at peak power through my shifts. I've read you don't have to rev as high with this cam in comparison to the other big cams out there. Is this true? I really don't want my rev limiter set higher than 6800. Well like I said before, a dyno sheet would be the best but any info or opinions would be appretiated
Thanks,
Lou

Lou

He is an M6 as am I. Cam peaks right at 6300. I think Josh (distortion_69) would agree with me that 6800 rpms seems to be the best shift point. Here was my initial dyno, should give you a feeling for the curves.

Thanks guys, those dynos are very helpful. Now I need to decide between this cam and the g5x3. The dynos I've seen have pretty close curves. HP verys a bit but its hard to tell because each persons car is set up different. I think either one would give me good results but I think I like the sound of the RJ cam better. You guys think my stall is big enough for these cams. It looks like the torque hits hard right about 4500 rpms and then the hp takes over into the 6500 range. Considering my converter flashes to right about 4200 rpms, these cams should give me good results shifting at around 6600rpms right?
