Anyone know the dynamic CR of a stock '98-00 LS1?

Default Anyone know the dynamic CR of a stock '98-00 LS1?

Unfortunately, I don't know the durations at .006" for the stock F-body cam that came in LS1s from '98-00.

With stock SCR around 10.1:1, I'm wondering what a stock unmolested 346 has for DCR? I plan on upgrading to a cam-only setup over the winter and eventually to upgraded heads with smaller cc chambers. I want to be very methodical as I take these steps. I want to nail the valve events. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have my numbers handy but as I recall doing the calc's on my '99 LS1 it was in the ~7.4 range with the '01 LS6's being in the ~7.7 range.

When I measured mine the intake closed at 84° ABDC, C/L 122°, duration 264°

I plugged the following cam specs into J-Rod's calculator:

Stock '00 F-body Cam:
200/209 119 LSA 121 ICL (at .050")
264/275 119 LSA 121 ICL (estimated at .006", could be way off)
IVC 41 degrees ABDC (at .050") 73 degrees ABDC (at .006")
Static compression 10.04:1
Dynamic compression 7.47:1

Does that sound close?

The intake appears to be closing a little early but I'd say the sec's look pretty good!
