Anyone have a motor built by Speed Inc.?
Have any problems? Did it perform as expected? Do they use new or used iron blocks? LQ9 or LQ4 iron blocks? How many miles have you put on it and what kind of abuse doe it get (nitrous, FI, etc) Overall, are you happy with your motor or should I look for another vendor for a 402. I hear SLP and HPE do good jobs also, but Speed is (semi) local to me.
thanks
thanks

My bud has a speed inc 348, stock crank/eagle rods/pistons. He has had no problems, makes ~420 n/a and 550+ on the bottle. Runs 1.42 60's with a 6 speed too. 02bluess is his screen name.
I believe he had an oil leak when he got it back, however.

I have run my Speed inc built motor for 3000 miles. I have had a couple small issues that any one would have had considering all the mods I did at once. They stand by their work and have good customer service.

We have built A LOT of motors in the last 3 years, rarely have we had a problem. The ocassional oil leak has happened, but we stand behind them and our labor.
Also, we do not stricly use one machine shop for our motors, we use 3, all very reputable. We also supply every part that goes into the motor, so we have confidence in what we build. IF we are installing and likely tuning the motor, you can have 100% confidence.
Also take into consideration, we have several employee cars that make sick power, and have been running reliably. These are the same motors listed on our site that we build and install almost weekly.
If you have any questions, email me direct tom@ls1speed.com
