PnP TEAs on a 402
I have a set of TEA 5.3 Stage IIs on my broken 346. I am building an LS2 402. What are the challenges with using a set of heads made for a 3.895 bore in a 4 inch bore. (other than the obvious CR calcs).

I've got a set of AS 5.3's 11/1 CR and when my 346 expires I also am planning on a 402, hopefully with the LS2 block. It is my understanding that they will work reasonably well if the combustion chamber is feathered out and you use a dished piston to bring down the CR. Obviously LS6 heads are the best way to go.

I think you would be better of running a 6.0 head for the best results, however a guy on this board I know was running a set of TEA 5.3's on his 370 cubic inch motor (6.0 block bore 30 with stock crank gives you 370) and ran 10.8 on motor and made 620 to the tires on a 150 shot through the T-400 and 12 bolt.

The heads will work fine on you planned build up. You will have to run a fairly large dish to get the compression were it needs to be. You will find some increased flow if you have someone open the chambers up to match the 4" bore. I don't know how much run time are on the heads, but if your building a new engine you would be wise to freshen the heads up anyway. I can help you spec out the right piston, just let me know what compression you are wanting to run.
