Im building a 5.3 for my truck with the MTI C1 cam and i was wanting to know if i should stay with the truck intake or go with an ls6 intake.
My main mods are as follows:
MTI C1 cam, 222/222 .566/.566 112lsa
Longtube headers
ASP pulleys
ported heads
free mods
150 shot tnt wet kit
3000 yank converter
Im also wanting to see what kind of power numbers you guys are getting with the C1 cam.
Any replies are helpful.

That is not what the latest issue I read stated. It stated to stay away from them, and stick with the proven LS6. They did mention the LSX 90 but only recomended it for big cube motors. I also recomended the C-1 to a friend of mine with simular mods in a truck. I think it will make good power in a 5.3 and good drivability. My friend in his car makes 389rwhp in an A4 with a yank SS3600 of course this is in a 5.7L.

I had a M6 Z28 with the C1 cam and 5.3 MTI stage 2 heads, it made 429 rwhp and 404 rwtq with the LS6 intake. I definitely recommend the combo. It made for a great daily-driven vehicle.

You rang?????????
FWIW- I've been there and done that. My next C-1500 will have a C1 with MTI stage 2 heads.
I ran faster than I would have ever dreamed. Lucky?........NOT!!!........I just keep getting lucky , if that's the case.
That's an excellent combo that no one can question. Ya better have some traction components.

C1 puts down insane numers relative to its size and the fact that its not a peaky spinmeister. You will not have to stress about springs either. Numbers in sig with an LS1 intake and stock heads (!). I cannot wait to see what some milled afr's and a FAST do with this cam, 435 at the wheels (on dynojet) is my goal.
it would not be worth the hassle to swap to anything but a fast 90 in your case. The truck intake flows fine. I might even think it would be designed for better torque down low since it is a truck intake. I recall the above mentioned article but not exactley.
Good luck.

Chevy High Performance did engine dynos with LS1, LS6 & the truck intakes. If I remember correctly, the truck intake showed a slight gain over the LS6. I'll see if I still have that mag and look it up.

I believe the truck intake will provide slightly higher torque numbers but the LS6 will show slightly higher HP numbers...
If you are going through the trouble of bracket relocation ect. why not go with a LS2?

Silver Whistler- Look start simple just use the truck intake you have for now. Then change it later. I know that the truck intake did provide some aditional torque down low but it didd suffer a bit on the top. I would think that with the 4:56 gears and a 3000 stall the LS6 would help way more than the truck intake cause you are out of what I would call lower RPM range anyway. About the LS2 intake I would just hold off a little bit longer I have herd mixed reviews so far and could not recomend it yet especially with a smalller cubed motor etc. But hey what do I know? Good luck start simple and work your way to the correct solution, and always keep focused on what you are trying to do with the truck etc.

Power:!! Hmm that is the question.
"Big uggly" runners are a totally different design and are done so for 1 purpose (TORQUE).
So if your goal is massive trq combo, stick with the 5.3, but if your goal is more (PEAK) hp then LS6 it is.
