Default question about piston rings

How much rwhp and tq can one expect to lose if going with a pretty nitrous specific ring set?

I went with a G2000 ringset on my new motor and the dyno numbers are lower than I expected and I am trying to see if thats part of the reason.

any engine builders want to chime in about the G2000 ringset and if it costs any power on the motor?

i need to talk to my builder and find out the exact gap

they told me before hand that i would lose the most power with the hellfire rings and second most with these C&A g2000 rings

just wondering

I don't think it's enough power to go crazy over. Everyone thinks they got to run low tension rings on N/A motors to make "big" power and they just lead to oil consumption.

If you are running a spray motor set it up right!

It really is all going to depend on your ring gap. If your gap is too big or set up for a lot of nitrous you could be down a little on HP when running on motor. You won't be missing a lot of HP though. Also generally the G2000 rings and the Hellfires come with standard tension oil rings. This maybe taking somepower away from you but, like Howard said, it's not enuff power to go crazy over.

Spray more through it

Interesting discussion though.

ya I'm only down about 15hp or so from where I wanted to be. Its still well over 500rwhp.

Combined with the rings, I think I am also getting some valve float after 6400rpm. Gotta take care of that alos.
