I'm going to make the intakes about .090 and the exhausts about the same here in the next week or so to try these new cams and when my AFR 225's get here I'm going to have the **** milled out of them before I install them.

ill be going w/ the F14 in my TA. They're coming to get my car either Dec 19th or Dec 27th so i should have results posted soon after. Candy told me that Telly went 11.30s w/ the F14 and just bolt-ons in his 98 Z28 a4 w/ 3.23 gears which sounds pretty damn good to me. Dunno what kinda verter or suspension setup/rims & tires he had but still 11.30s cam only automatic aint to shabby. Im shooting for mid-low 11s w/ my F14 and some spray(75-100hp) on 315/35 nitto, MT, or BFG DRs but ill have to wait till March to find out if i can do it or not. Either way, i think ill be happy w/ the F14.

Telly's car sounds bad ***. He has around a 4400 stall and 3.23 gears with all but drivers seat removed and weld wheels front skinnies and 16 inch et streets on stock comaro wheels. I will be installing my f13 cam tommorrow to see what I gain over the c1 cam.
Does any one know what the max hp is for a 2000 stock fuel pump.
Allan told me to change it but with the cam and spring change , I dont know if I will have time before going racing Sunday. I am at 400 with the c1 and only expect to gain maybe 20 hp untuned for the f13 . I will be useing the maft to make sure I am not on the lean side. Will fuel pump be ok?

Great info in HERE!!!!! Glad to see you got the Timeless II's on order, John, NICE choice!!!!

Back on topic. I have a bolt-on 99SS M6 with 4:10's. The car will be cam only for a little while before heads. I think Gomer has talked me into the F13 +2. Does that seem like it will work well cam only??? Oh yeah. I want a peak around 6200. Is this too big off a cam for this application? I dont want to raise my shifts too much on the 100k motor.

Thanks

Chris

NuffZ28, I am under the impression a F13 +2 will peak a little sooner than you want. An off the shelf F13(+4) will probably peak where you want(~6200). The reason Gomer suggests less advance ground in, is to adjust the Intake Center Line in an effort to fine tune its ability to crank out the horses in relation to the rpm band.

Gomer, hopefully you can chime in and clear that up. Thats just how I understand your efforts.

I've done a couple of F13 112 +2's and they peak a little over 6300. The 112 +4's will be around 6200.

I like the +2 and +0 112's because I want my power above 4800rpm And I want it to last until 6700-6800. Check out my F15 graph I posted the other day in the dyno section, that thing was dying big time at 6500.. due to that 107icl.

I just bought the f13. I told the guy i wanted a 112 + 2 and he told me to get the + 4. I hope i dont wish i wouldve gotten the +2 after reading what gomer said. I cant wait to get it and go down the road for the first time with the cam in it.

The F14 on a 114 with 4 deg. adv. should peak right around 6400-6500 rpms.

My F13 is on a 113 lsa and its retarded to a 112 icl. (so 1* advance) and it peaks at 6300-6400 but carries all the way to 6800+ nicely. It also idles very similar to my old TR224/114.

My F13 is a 112+2 and I like it. It feels stronger than the F15 did; frankly I'm unimpressed with the F15 and F14 results I've been seeing, including my own. You tell me if you think the F13 works cam-only. Best pass so far is in sig, stock rear/gears, DA was 3200.

Here's a graph so you can see where a 112+2 peaks:

You just have a damn good tune in your car

I wish I had a F13 to include in my testing I'll be doing over the next few weeks.

Another thing that I realized today while looking back on the data of all the combo's I've had so far... the lowest HP ones were the ones that had 106-108 ICL's.. the best have had 110-112 ICLs... can't wait to try that MS3 on it's 113

Jlaw,

Can you send me the dynojet file for that run. I would like to overlay it on one of my runs with the 224 on a 112. mike00frc@comcast.net

BTW, nice avatar

Where are you guys seeing bad results with the f14? A couple of you have said this. I know the f15(rj) hasn't been up to par with the f13 but I have only seen good results from the f14. Are you guys just assuming the f14 won't perform as well as the f13 because the f15 didn't.
On the ICL topic, does anyone know what ICL the f14 on a 112lsa has off the self? My guess would be between the f13 and the f15. Gomer has said the 107ICL on the f15 is what he thinks is hurting it. I would think the f14s ICL would be higher. Anybody know?

rufretic, there are a few great results(the a4 that pulled 422 uncorrected) with the f14, and a few less than spectacular results(some barely surpassing 400). hence why this cam seems to really depend on your setup, being hit or miss. i've not given up on it at all, quite the opposite. i'd really like to find out why there are such discrepencies.

While it is important to know, pdd, you have a double roller timing chain, so you can put the ICL wherever you want my advancing or retarding the cam. I would think that a 112+2 would work well for the F14 just like Gomer says it does for the F13. Man I wish I had all the bolt ons so I could heads/cam!
