Default ls6 valves in an ls1 head?

i had a bent intake valve. so i was wondering if i can buy ls6 valves and just pop them in. would i need to do anything to the head. i was going to change them all. or should i just put in new ls1 valves or some good after market valves? thanx!

they're sodium filled so they rev higher. they should just be a drop in replacement assuming your seats are still good. but for the prices you usually find em at i'd just assume replacing the valves with some nice manleys if you plan on keeping the stockers for a while.

If you go with LS6 valves with an LS1 cam you'll need 7.35 pushrods for proper lifter preload.

yeah, but are manley's as light as LS6? I wouldnt think that they are. Ive seen the manleys for about $12 each, but the LS6 valves are like $40. I cant see spending $640 on valves.

wow ls6 valves r 40 bucks each? I thought the whole set was for 40 bucks! does any one know of a good bang for the buck valve for the stock ls1 head. i think im gunna use the *TSP MS3 (Magic Stick v.3) 237/242, .603"/.609", 113 LSA cam. would i have to use the 7.35 pushrods or the 7.40 pushrods? thanx for the feed back!

With LS6 valves 7.35
with others 7.40

I have a Stealth II 224/220, .581/.581 116+0 XER (MTI)
and I have LS6 valves on a 241 casting unported with 918's and tit retainer. I used 7.35 p-rods with stock rockers.
404rwhp/383rwtq cam only + full boltons (minus EWP) on a 3.73:1 10 bolt rear (A4)

Holy crap predator, thats crazy power for that cam on unported LS1 heads. Do those valves offer any difference that would affect flow or is it just a weight savings over the LS1 valves?

Oh wait... You dont have to run cats in UAE!

No on the contrary. the point was to lighten the valvetrain as much as possible since I was running 918's on a .581 lift XER lobe. Works well no KR.

Well, not only that. This was with 30* timing/ AFR 13.1, on 98 Octane Premium with open cutout. Yes we have good cheap gas here $1.40 a gallon.

Predator, how long have you been using 918s with that cam ?
How long do you think it's gonna last with .581 lift on XER lobes ?

I have them on for around 6k. So far no change in motor behavior (loss of power) or valve float. I'll check them in another 4K to see if they softened up.

No, I didn't shim. Valvetrain a bit noisy but nothing outrageous. Covers the piston slap noise LOL
