Default bad lifter?

How do you know when your lifters are bad. What are the signs?

You will hear a slow clicking or tapping at half the crankshaft speed. The sound mine is making is almost a squeaking/clicking sound.

Now when lifters are starting to go bad they will often tick at startup and then once oil gets circulated, it goes away. This is due to this ring or seal or something like that inside the lifter messing up and letting the oil leak out of it when the car is off.

well i guess you could go with the comp cam stock replacement lifters they do just fine i think the part number is 850-16 but don't quote me on that, do not confuse those with the r lifters casue those need adjustable rockers.

edit:: ps all that is involved is picking up the phone and orderign them, lol just kidding, they are direct replacements so just drop em in and torque them down to 22 ft, and of curse soak em in oil for like 20 30 mins, also i think there is something about the number one piston being at the uper most possition before you torque them down but iam not sure i'll check my manual when i get home tonight
