The tick is normal though not all do it; mine doesn't. The rattle from 4000-6200 sounds like knock, you might want to check that out with Autotap or EFILive, not a good thing. If you have a M6 with aftermarket shifter you might hear a rattle at some rpms also.

Do you have an aftermarket MAF, Hypertech or any other 'pocket tuner' type device installed?

Re: EVERYONE WITH LS1
NO AFTERMARKET PARTS, JUST A HIGH FLOW AIR LID AND I PUT AMACO 93 IN IT ALL THE TIME. ALL THOUGH I JUST CHANGED THE OIL AND PUT REDLINE 10W40 AND IT STOPPED MOST OF THE NOISE, BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT DOES'NT MATTER IF IT IS COLD OR WARMED UP, THE SAME NOISES PLAY IN.

Sorry guys but i know the answer 2 this riddle its ur pushrods. Thats a major effect on the LS1's and that is normal, they all do it cuz at around 5000 RPM they bent a little check it out all of my friends w/the LS's hv the same problem and the dealer lead tech checked it and it was a pushrod but thats ok its cuz we hv weak pushrods they are not chrome moly. Thats true when they are cold u can here it more cuz the engine is cold thats gonna be the effect so dont worry 2 much it will be alright. Oh yeah by the way we did use the autotao and got a diagnostic test at the dealer they were all ok.
