Patriot Gold Springs Failing?
my dyno shows some type of mechainal issue up top of the rpm range, i'm thinking that the patriot spring might be failing and giving me some valve float, anyone care to chime in on what to do to get the smooth top end it should have?

I don't see anything wrong with that graph...
Looks like it peaks at a good spot, and then carries the hp across pretty steadily almost to 7k. No weird dips from what I can see... valve float would show a very pronounced dip (like suddenly dropping about 50 hp).

Harland Sharps are non adjustables and need to be torqued to 22lbs/ft. Not 3/4 or 1/2 or 1/4. I wish poeple would make the difference between adjustable rockers and NON-adjustable.
What you are experiencing is that your lifters are at different preloads.
2 ways to adjust preload on HS rockers
1- custom p-rod length
2- shimming the rocker stands

The lighter weight factory rockers will probably help alot....
Another thing you can do is to add shims and reduce the "installed height" to give you more seat and open pressures. If your running a cam in the low .600's you could shim the springs .050-.060 (installed height @ 1.740-1.750) for an addition 15-18 lbs of pressure. That would still leave you over .100 till coilbind....a very comfortable margin.

sorry, i didn't mention they are shimmed... at ..050, i had to buy them seperate as they didn't come with the kit...
Do you think a better set of rocker arms will get rid of this issue, i'd rather not put the stockers back in and listen to them fly apart on me

Put the stockers back on and redyno. My X3 peaks @ 6350rpm and carries all the way till 7,000 rpm. Yours is falling off after the 6350 peak. I would take everyones advice and put the stock rockers back on. It should only take you about an hour.

The stockers will not fly apart on you. You will be fine. I rev mine up to 6750 all the time with stock rockers, rods, rod bolts, and pistons. I haven't broken anything yet, and I have been doing this for nearly a year. You will break a rod-bolt before you brake a rocker.

Just because you have broken one doesn't mean everyone else will! The point is, your case is a rarity. Sure there is always a chance that something is going to break; that is the price you pay in this hobby. When it happens you fix it and go down the road. I am simply stating that he is not the 1st person to have this problem with a/m rockers on this cam. Now that is not to say that they are bad rockers, they are just in PITA to get setup properly, and they are not a necessity for his setup. Not trying to get into a pissing contest with anyone here. Peace!

Just stick them in and torque them down....
It's worth a shot. Worse case scenerio we are wrong. So you loose about an hour out of your day replacing the rockers, and $35 for a dyno pull. FWIW I think it's worth trying to swap them out.
