With 15-17#s boost you can see 8-10#s of boost VERY low in the rev range.

My car traps ~127mph through cats naturally aspirated at 3600 pounds with a stroker. These cars I drove trap 133-137mph at 200 pounds more raceweight!
A good example is look at the 03/04 Mustang Cobra. It has a 281 ci engine and with the supercharger it makes lots of torque even in the low rpms.

Ford uses a roots type blower too. Root's type drive much more like N/A than rubber bands.

I will probably just stick with the stock cubes. I would like to see around 650hp with 600tq at the wheels. I have the D1SC will i need the F1 for this or can i spin the D1 fast enough to get the boost i want for that amount of power? Also what size injectors and fuel pump. I have 42# injectors and a walbro 340 intank right now.

For 650rwhp the D-1SC will be just fine. U will need 11-13psi to make 650rwhp depending on your setup. If that is your goal then go with 60lbs injectors and keep your C/R around 9.1.

I have a walbaro intank fuel pump now and 60lbs injectors and with only 550rwhp im running around 70-80% Duty Cycle at 60psi. So i would think u will need a better fuel setup than that. Try the 60lb injectors and see how far it gets u before spending money on a return fuel system with larger fuel rails and the works. Good luck.

That's what i was hoping you would say. Honestly 650 will do me good. I am running 531 at the wheels now and it's quite fun so i can't imagine 120 more! Anyway i will just get the 60#er's. You have any suggestions on a bullet proof rotating assembly?

U can go with dimond pistons and eagle rods. They will do just fine with 650rwhp. Hell the stock rods will do fine at those power levels thats why LT1 guys run LS1 rods with forged pistons. Keep the stock crank and get ARP studs. Good luck.

you biggest cost in all of this is the labor. If you *think* you might want more power later, now is a good time to beef up your short block. The more planning ahead you do now, the easier it will be on your wallet.

you might try giving HPE (281 448 1300 ask for Erik) or one of the other sponsors a call. These guys build LSx's in their sleep.

Your goals are certainly attainable (sp). The best thing to do is to decide on what you want, then research it to figure you cost. A lot of the sponsors will bend over backwards to help you make an informed decision.

Definitely do the rods especially if you plan on going up in power/rpm down the road.

A return based fuel setup is quite easy to do and not too expensive. You can put a regulator by the block where the fuel filter is now or put the regulator up by the rail and run a return line.

I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say. Thanks everyone.
