Well i think you are about to spend $15,000 before you are done. What do you think about that.

Pistons 600 (-15cc)
Rings 180
Rods 400 You can use SBC
crank $1000 for a foged one
Cam 400 new
spings and retainers 300
Main studs 180
Head studs 220
heads (317 6.0) 200-300 this will help with the 8.75 CR
Headers 500
Exhauset 500
Meching work 600-850 This will include bearings, vatting, boring, powerhoning, pressing new cam bearings, and balencing the motor internaly.
New tranny 1500-2500 Depending on what u break in your tranny
LS6 intake 300-400
Injector 300-400
Fuel rails 150-200

Super charger $5,000 or so. Not sure i guess i will have to go look it up.

Well goober i already have the supercharger and if i wanted an answer like that i would asked how much do you think this will cost. I am fully aware of the cost, and the way it looks so do you.

skip the stroker for forced induction...waste of money...low comp forged 346 is plenty

Sounds like a beast. You will probavly have less reliability issues if you heed to SAM98WS6's advice.

So what are the issues with a stroked FI setup? Also what kind of power could you see out of a built 346

I agree with SAM98WS6, you don't need big cubic inches when you go forced induction. Just build the 346 to be able to handle the boost. The power expected out of a FI 346 depends on the amount of boost you are planning on running.

More cubes is more power. It's all about how fast you want to go and how much money to spend. And how much boost you want to run to reach a certain power level. A blown 382 would be badass.

I would save the cash and go with a good forged rod, forged dished piston and reuse the stock crank.

What boost are you planning on running? What rpm range, Stock PCM? What injectors/fuel system?

If you are looking to make around 600-700RWHP on pump gas I would go with ~8.2:1 compression 15#'s boost (Need to size your supercharger head unit properly) and the biggest/highest flowing front mount intercooler you can fit in the nose.

Good flowing heads, cam and exhaust, big injectors and fuel system and good tuning will make for a very fast combo

It wont be cheap but it'll be FAST and should be very reliable with the right tune

I also agree that a built 346 would do great.

A built 347 shouldn't be that much more, just a tiny bore; should add some power if you want all that you can get

Or you could do what i am doing and build a icon 370. It is just a 6.0 30 over. It will handle a little more power than the Aluminum block can. It money sence i cost 350 bucks more than for me to do a 346. Boring was a 150 and i had to add 2 inches of tungston. I did use a 6.0 crank so that might have help on the balancing part.

With all the added weight of the blower kit I would stay alum personally.

I think you should check out the LS2-LS7 forum under this one and see the 402 shortblock for 3,995.00 with all top brand parts

I agree with the guys that said stay with your stock displacement if u are going boost unless u go 4.125 bore or more then its worth it. I have seen it million times where a bored/stroked combo running the same forced induction system and same boost level making 40-60rwhp more at best after 800rwhp levels(So its going to be less gain for lower power levels). For example, my friends 550CID viper running NOVI2000 RACE and 12psi making 890rwhp while other stock displacment 488CID vipers running the same blower setup making 840rwhp. He him self regret doing the stroker setup. Now tell me if the 35K that went on the motor worth the extra 50rwhp. Another good proof is harlan setup. He is still running a stock displacment motor and have the 2nd fastest FI setup. With FI its all about a stout motor that can handle the extra boost u throw at it. If u are going to stay with stock displacement then go really low C/R so u can run 16-18psi. Thats my goal anyways.

What rpm range? If you are keeping it reasonable (7200rpm and lower) an Eagle rod and diamond piston combo will work fine with the stock crank

I think that you are missing the low rpm torque boost the stroker will provide. Are you after HP or torque? If you don't street drive your car than I feel all the advise given here is spot on. If you spend 80-90% of the time street driving your car than do the bigger cubes. Cause 80-90% of that 80-90% will be spent at rpm levels that a SC or Turbo isn't making significant boost.

OTOH, if yoiu only drag race the car than 90% of the time it will be at rpm levels that the SC is making big time difference and a built 346 is better.

I clearly remember a relatively spirited drive home from my local Chebby dealers in 99. My buddy was in his 98 Camaro with the serial number 1 Vortech install for the LS1. I was in my 93 Camaro with 383. We weren't racing but scooting through freeway traffic in late afternoon N Cal. When we got to the house he said "Damn, that thing is fast!" Now it clearly was 10 mph in trap speed slower than his car but when we saw a hole in traffic I could hammer it and get right there right now. He, had to wait til he got up around 3500-4000 rpm before he could catch up. So figure out your use and make your choice.

I got another buddy making 1200 hp out of a stock sometimes street driven 355 blown LT1. And with his 4500-5000 rpm stall converter he is right in his rpm range all the time. however can you imagine his gas bill??!

If you size the blower properly and go with the right compression pistons, fuel system and tuning, his car will make OBSCENE torque. (over 600#'s torque) and not feel soft anywhere in the powerband.

I have driven a couple of 600-700RWHP blower cars and they are insane from just about any rpm. Blowing the tires loose with a 4th gear punch at 80mph is insane!

With 15-17#s boost you can see 8-10#s of boost VERY low in the rev range.

My car traps ~127mph through cats naturally aspirated at 3600 pounds with a stroker. These cars I drove trap 133-137mph at 200 pounds more raceweight!
