I'm getting ready to swap out the TR224, but before I pull out the credit card and start ordering parts, I just want to get some other views... so let me hear it.
FM13 230/232 595/585 112
TSP 233/239 59x/59x 112
The car is a 2000 C5 with stock heads, full exhaust(catted) and N20. Gears will be done down the road, but no concrete plans yet(3.90:1) What I'm looking for is the following:
1. Better topend- should not be an issue with a larger cam
2. Close to the same midrange as the TR224 - ideally equal to or better
3. N2O friendly - Max shot 100 on a TNT setup (125ish?)
4. Sewing machines are a bad thing... trying to keep valve noise close or less than TR224
5. Louder exhaust note, not just lope
6. Emissions Exempt![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Any opinions... similar swaps? More importantly, are you happy?

1. Better topend- should not be an issue with a larger cam (YES)
2. Close to the same midrange as the TR224 - ideally equal to or better
If your definition of midrange is 2500>4500 then YES
3. N2O friendly - Max shot 100 on a TNT setup (125ish?) (YES)
4. Sewing machines are a bad thing... trying to keep valve noise close or less than TR224
tr224 ramp is between XE & XE-R,
5. Louder exhaust note, not just lope
They will definitely be louder
6. Emissions Exempt
No way in Hell if it involves sniffing. If only code reading then yes.

really.. hmm hopefully when they make this a law in SC again they will include that.. right now there are no laws.. well until u get pulled over for ur exhaust being insane.. but other then that no checkups...
what happens to ya'll when u have 6000miles and u dont pass though? u change things and retake the test? or do they take ur tags or what?

Hey old man... Why don't you let me spec a custom cam for you? I have a 234/242/110 0.578/0.578 that made 451rwhp with a pair of my stock compression stage II LS1 heads. I can custom grind anything you want.

I went 11.60@119.39 1.65 60 ft. with the c1 cam and 11.56 @ 119.08 with same tune as c1 cam and a max of 5 miles for computer to relearn.
With more miles it is coming around though, feels very strong now. Both best with c1 and f13 were both 945 feet above. It may feel stronger because of the -1167 feet we have right now.
If you like the sleeper sound then the c1 is for you, if you like a badass sound then the fm 13 is for you. I like the fm13 so far as it is just as street freindly as the c1 with more lope and so far feels to have a lot more midrange and topend.

I just finished putting in a F13 from a TR224. I'm waiting on a thermostat that should be here tomorrow and will fire it off and post my thoughts! Looking forward to it after reading about the power it makes.
