TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
someone help me make up my mind please
Both are awesome bang for the buck heads and both are making over 410hp in M6's and probably 380-390 in the A4's give or take.
I want something to get me close go the 10sec range if not in 10's with weight reduction, but i want something that awesome on street.
TEA's 1.5's and AS stage 2 both seem like they could do it.
Any pros or cons to either? Im sure everyone would be bias on this matter. Ive done the search, but i dont see to much info on Absolute's heads
I need something that will match my comp 224/224 .563 114 cam

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
Absolute Speed all the way! Jay is working on a set of heads for me right now. His customer service is the BEST. The heads I'm having worked on he would not send me because he is setting it up for my cam that has a lift of .581. The heads didn't flow to his liking for the cam so he has started another set for me. He could have said the hell with it and just send the heads to me as is, but he did not. He is VERY honest and wants his customers to be satisfied. I would have no other heads than Absolute Speed’s/Jay’s.

I agree, Jay is one of the most helpful and friendly guys I've ever talked to, as well as Craig Gallant. They both seem to share some of the same views regarding cylinder head performance. But, I got a great deal on some TEA 5.3's and went with them. They are track proven, and I have been very happy with them. I am also shooting for high tens, with an M6, and I'm sure I will be there soon after the new headers arrive.

BTW....296.1 int./ 261.3 exh. @ 0.550, and 300.2 int./ 265.5 exh. @ 0.600. Not too shabby for a stock size exh. valve ehh ???
Also....I think TEA is running a KILLER deal on their heads right now....damn near a steal

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
I have the Absolute stage 2 heads and think they are a great product . Jay Customer service is the best. Looks like there are lots of tough choices to be made these days. If eveyone is getting all these kickass cams and heads that are out low 11`s will be an average 1/4 mile this summer.

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
The average I usually see is 11.35-11.75. But those are mostly cars that slapped on heads/cam without trying to get the car down as fast as possible stock.
I'd just like to be in the 11.1 range with this heavy POS car IFFFFFF i get them

Whats wrong with Raging Motorsports (RMS) StageII heads? Thats what I just bought through mark. Anyone else running them? Mark was saying they will flow better than TEA SII heads. I sure hope so.

Absolute Speed all the way, tea might still be having a special sale, but Absolute is still cheaper, Its up to you whether you want an off the shelf set of heads or a set custom ported for your cam.

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
I haven't heard anything about this TEA Cylinder Head sale, I've been kinda busy lately. What is the deal with it? how much, and how long does it run? Furthermore, how do Absolutes stage 2 products compare with TEA's sale price for their comparable product?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
TEA stage 1.5's are 1470 with dual springs
Absolutes S2'S were 1350 with single springs and 1500 with dauls I believe(but his sale ended already i think
But they are almost the same price! Brent said the 1.5's are the way to go if you dont plan on spraying cause they produce the same flows as the S2's he has(just different valves)
Check GP section for the TEA GP

First.....you normally match the cam to the heads. That's why so many folks who've bought a cam, then slapped on another vendors heads aren't seeing the power they thought they would. I know this, as I was one of those folks
With that said, Brian/Brent will build you a set of heads designed to work w/your cam(as well as taking into cosideration future cam upgrade per your input)and make great #'s. Their heads are the result of the the most up to date CNC equipment/ program(with continueing R/D), are finished by hand, and all heads ship w/CC987 dbl. springs for added durability.
TEA built a set of S1.5-5.3s's for me, using an existing T1 and gained 25 rwhp/21rwtq over the previous SII heads, resulting in 415.4/406.2 through a 12 bolt and slicks Best #'s w/X brand heads were 391/388 through a 10 bolt/DR's, so.......go figure.
FWIW....my S1.5 5.3's went 301.x/265.x @ .600, and .550 #'s were not far behind
No doubt Jay/Mark and others have a great product, but IMO, you're doing yourself an injustice w/out at least talking to TEA first
Honesty/integritty/ A1 customer service, and a proven product gets my $ every time

Re: TEA or Absolute Speed heads? Which ones
Ive been in constant talk with both and still im undecided as of right now. Brent has a great product and so does Jay!
I searched for flow numbers and actaully found that the AS heads flow a tad better over all. But still its so close and both companies have the best REP for customer service. I'd reccomend either of them!!
I may have to flip a quarter
