Default Cam install

I am a college student and dont have tools or a garage at my apartment. So, what would be a good cam install price? It kills me to have someone else do this after doing my headers and true duals, but I really want this cam.

There is a big difference between a good price and what someone will charge you. I wouldn't be surprised if they want $500 to do it...that's probably a conservative estimate too....

Where do you live? I'll do it for ya...$200.

im in the same boat as you... (college student and all). I know usually if you buy anything from somewhere and have them put it in they will give u more of a break on the install price, but from what i've seen, cam install is around $350-$500. Usually a more reputable place will be more expensive, but I'd rather spend the extra bucks and have it done by people who know what they are doing (ie one of the sponsors).. good luck!

I have done 25+ cam installs, 400.00 for cam & springs, have you in & out in 4.5-5hrs. Of course dont know how close you are to Ga. But have a lot of references. If nothing else it should put you in the ballpark on whats fair.

Well, springs, pushrods with the cam. Basically the labor charge.

Hell, if you were close to the RGV, I'd install the cam, springs, oil pump, and timing chain for $200 at my house. But I like doing these kinda swaps. I wouldn't doubt it if some shops might try to charge you close to $500 though. I personally wouldn't pay for it because I have the time and tools to do it, but if I had to pay, I wouldn't pay more than $300.
