im getting rid of my 02 for now and am gonna get another f-bod, but this time pay it cash. no longer want payments. i found a 98z with 56k miles and the guy says he will let it go for 6k$. its an m6/leather in great shape and its stock. i dont have any experience with 98's but i did have a 00ss. is there anything i should be worried about or take a look at before i buy it? are there any differences between the 98/00 models? ive read about how some people say 98's are not good or something.

Nothing that can't be fixed or modded.
Read JRP sig, he has all the differences listed. The main hassle was, oil pumps, steel gas tanks, heads (perimiter bolts), that is all I can think off.

ell, it will be slightly more expensive as you'll need LS6/LSx intake, most aftermarket heads are center bolts so add to that valve covers/coil bracket, but yeap, if you modd, it's as good as any.
Good luck.

I don't know if I could give up my 02 NBM SS for something older with more miles.
Good luck either way.

Didn't the '98's have the oil pump problem?
They also didn't have the LS6 intake manifold.

I wouldn't worry about that '98 it will respond to everything the same as your '02 did, plus, you should have more cash for mods, right?
