i have 3.73 gears, and a tci ssf 4000 that can be sprayed on, and getting the tsp 233/239. i would recommend nothing smaller than a 3800 and the 3.73's for this cam.

I wonder who said that? I was told the full specs the other day by a TSP employee and the lobes mimicked the XE-R. 233/239 @ .050" and 282/288 advertised. They did say it was ground by somone other than comp, which I assume is Lunati, but it was as aggressive as a XE-R. Sounds like somone from TSP needs to check in.....

a quote from texas speed...TCI Competition 4000 stall speed, 2.7:1 Stall Torque Ratio, for 1998-2002 LS1 F-Body
Price: $689.99
Description:
This is a hard-hitting converter for N/A use and is a great choice for those that want a converter a little more streetable than the 4,400 RPM stall speed. Full slicks are recommended with this converter. Not recommended for towing in trucks

TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 stall speed, 2.5:1 Stall Torque Ratio, for 1998-2002 LS1 F-Body
Price: $479.99
Description:
This is our most popular converter! It's a great converter for the daily driver that wants great street/strip performance. It is also a great choice for those that are still wanting to use larger shots of N2O. Shift extensions 4,200-4,400 RPM.

I second that. Seems to be a mis-communication somewhere.

That's not right, shift extension on mine is at about 4950 rpm, as is every other one I've seen. I'm expecting it to go up to 5000 +/- with the additional power of this cam.

yeah, that's for the COMPETITION 4000, i have the ssf 4000, different converter buddy it has anti balooning plates, nitrous sprag, and all the stuff needed for running n2o. it has been tested up to a 250 shot by both tci and speed inc. i am one of few people that have it, and know about it. if you want one, contact kevin@tci.

that's why you run a bigger tire if you are spraying more than 150 like me

tires play a big role when it comes to figuring out where you are going to be trapping at the 1320. if you were not spraying, than 26 is ok, but if you are spraying on a 3.73, go with a 28in.

ah but this is a street car ya know? cant roll around on 28 inch tires around town with all the gear taken out trying to cruise down the highway in overdrive.. i was really only getting the 3.73 with 26 inch tires cuase i was told it would help the streetability of that cam.

mines a street car, but back on topic, i would run the tsp 233/239 instead of the torquer. it just seems to be better for n/a, and spray. i know i will be upgrading to it in the spring.

I don't know for sure, but my intuition would say yes.

Damn, every time I think I've decided I read another good thread on here. I had decided on the Torquer and now have to rethink it. I have an A4 with the TCI SSF3500 and love it but I want to stay with my current 3.42's. Do you guys think still the 233/239? Also are the titanium retainers really worth it? I'm on a quasi budget....Thanks!

I've read that the lobes of the 233/239 are more aggressive than the 231/237's. Close to XE-R.

Talking

I have the TSP Torquer waiting to be installed. It is cold out in the garage. Not that cold. I am waiting on my pulley.
