Default 98' block...3.903" possible?

Just wondering if a .005" hone is to much on a 98 block?I have taken 99 and up block's to 3.908" with no problems..but with a 98 block I have never tried it because I know the liners are much thinner.What is the max hone size with a 98 block safely?The block I am going to use is at exactly 3.8979..but it is a low mileaged used block,I was planning on using mahle motorsport 3.898" pistons..but with a hone i am afraid the block will exceed 3.8980" to acheive the correct cross hatch.Any info would be awesome,Thank's,

I have taken the '98 block 3.905" without any issues to speak of. Some of the best running, most power making forged setups I built were '98 blocks for whatever reason.

Sweet!Thank's man, I have always avoided the 98 block's because of their thinner sleeves...guess I will use em more often now you ever sonic tested them after a 3.905" finish?

If Im not mistaken, the 98s are actually thicker. There was a man on here long ago who took a 98 to 3.930 and it ran fine as far as I knew.
