385 rwhp and 379 rwtq through a 12 bolt with 4.10's with Hotcam and stock heads. Only tuning that I have is with a MAF translator and I did drill my tb. (HPP3 is only for gear ratio and stat) I have run a best of 12.08 @ 117.67 mph on a 1.75 60', can't get it any lower than that with the 26x10.5x16 ET streets. It pulls pretty good on the street and I am happy for now until I get the $ for a HC swap. Sounds bad *** as well!!!!
I say that if you can get it for cheap go for it but if not I'd get something else.

While the debate goes on, the Hot Cam is a pretty good choice for a cam only motor. It has a nice ramp rate, so it's not that hard on the valve train. It has a KILLER idle! And it has a longer exh duration that complimetns the smaller vavles & lower exh flow rates. And you can see in my sig that 400rwhp is not out of line with one. True, I have 1.8 rocker arms, but 392 thru an A4 is not bad with stock heads.
That said, it does offer challenges to make it idle right, especially with an A4. But it CAN be done. And once I get my stall converter in, I should be knocking on the 11 sec range. Again, for up here in Seattle, that aint too shabby.
But you can put in a cam that will perform as well. The 224 is a nice streetable cam. Good power, and a fair idle. One thing I have heard about the Hot Cam is that it's lobes are tighter from front to back. Meaning that some cams will have more cernterline variations, while it is pretty dead-on.
The only good thing about the hotcam is the price. That's it. It has a LOT of total duration, and idles and drives much worse than larger cams. My roomate (Winman) had one and it drove much worse than my F11. He pulled it out and called Futral right away. The way i see it, if your car is going to lope real hard and surge, you might as well put a huge cam in it so you at least make more than 380rwhp. Call FMS, get a F11 or F13. They both drive like stock and make tons of power.

There is a reason why you don't see any of the popular cams with a 10 degree split pattern.

Another User it doesn't idle like stock for me. But it does make good mid-range power. I think my idle is set to 800 though. It has a beautiful sound to it and the car pulls hard.
People talk a lot of trash on the hotcam. I think it's an awesome thing. I have full intentions on going to a Bigger cam when I switch to turbo but if you're researching and taking your time to really thouroughly learn cams or what ever. It's a great cam to switch to and not know anything about cams.
You can sleep soundly knowing it's going to make good power, drive well, and not give you any problems.
IMHO it's an I want to upgrade my cam but don't know what to do cam. Yet still know you're gonna get good benefits all around with no disadvantages.
I'm completely happy with the cam. Kinda worried about upgrading now cause I'm so happy with it I don't wanna mess up and choose the wrong cam.
Well i just finished my Hot Cam install yesterday and started it for the the first time haven't got a chance to drive it cause we have 2ft of snow i upgraded to the hot cam for idle it has sounds mean and theres enough spray to back it.So as of now i am happy car fired right just had to turn the key and it ran on its own didn't have to hold the rpm's up or anything like that and seems to idle right around 750rpms by it's self.Now i have a mean sounding idle and was a great learning expeirence installing it did comp 918's,LS6 oil pump,new timing chain set,hardend pushrods and the cam.
Thats my .02's and Blake rims look nice on your car seeing them makes me miss them
